Woohoo! My first update!
Why does this always feel like Iris is being inaugurated into a cult.
Because she’s basically apart of a groupmind that is this group of gals?
Because she’s being alluded to as “new blood”?
Well, the Bower Brigade definitely is a cult… but it seems to be a good cult. Kind of like how Batman breaks TONS of laws… to stop criminals.
Criminals only -he- can stop, which may be the product of him being there in the first place and mob bosses having to up their game.
Debatable, because several of the villians were created through random accident unrelated to him. Joker was made by falling into toxic waste or something, dr freeze is a scientist who Had an accident, poison ivy similarly. Most of the villians come about through events that I doubt connect to him being batman.
Batman pushed Joker into that vat.
Gasp! I’m early
Oh wow, I forgot how pretty this comic gets! The colors are nice to look at on this page…
Very Chestertonian philosophy right here. I wonder if she is a fan? He was on radio last three years of his life, starting around that time.
This town is certainly persistent…
Hah Welcome back, Mr. Straub. Ignore the haters.
How could there be any haters? This comic is amazing, (At least I love it), and it’s wonderful to see it return.
“Man, Broodhollow DED! Ain’t no Kris Straub! Ain’t update in almost THREE MONTH! That mean DED!”
And other idiotic ramblings from morons who have never put their hand to a task, let alone put their thoughts, via a pen, to paper. Jerktards want everything right now, and when there’s any delay, they pee themselves in futile rage.
That’s what I said, that people should be more patient I mean as there are quite a few other comics that took literaly years to return and this isn’t even his main comic. I’m glad some people realized that too, and I’m even more happy that the waiting paid off! And reading the little ‘hiatus’ post, it looks like this book is actually several little stories with a focus on each character, which is VERY promising indeed. :)
Or, as I like to call them: “Fucking n00bs.”
Hee hee hee! “Pee themselves in futile rage”! Hee hee hee!
… I…I hope they’re not in charge of the local plant life…
Actually, they’d do pretty well. A strong root system is vital to a thriving plant, as is rich green foliage to have a bountiful photosynthetic system. And to achieve these things, you’d need Phosphate and Nitrogen. Which can be very efficiently gained through bone and blood meal…
Pinkies up. (Deja vu.)
This page is giving me such a case of deja vu. But I can’t remember why.
I’m almost certain that this was shown before. Possibly they’re showing the pages again so that we can refresh ourselves on what happened.
It feels like the text is slightly different then last time… but I can’t say how…
Maybe giving the same (or a similar) speech is part of the…tradition of these meetings. ;)
Appropriate that this strip was run twice.
Appropriate also that you’d be the one to point it out (referring to your avatar).
“Mark it.” I hope there are tattoos.
Hooray! I so glad to find your comic has resumed!
And remember Kris, you don’t owe any of us Internet freeloaders squat. You share your art on your own time.
Welcome back. :)
Seriously? People thought this was dead? Other comics like Gastrophobia, What Nonsense, Vibe, and Helvetica take a long time to update as well.
the sad thing is that you’re genuinely okay with this
REAL LIFE happens so delays are a reality and I have several dozen other comics to keep me occupied.
wow, enjoy being a literal pleb
Fuck you. Seriously, fuck you. Guys like you are why the Internet is such a cancerous cesspool of fail and retardation. So it it hasn’t updated in a while? Big fucking deal. There are dozens of other comics to read between updates of others. You must live a really sad and pathetic existence for a delay to make be such a sad little sniveling shit like this man. I do hate you, but mostly I pity you.
You’re right, but that much edge is ruining your points, especially that last sentence.
Anger and rage. I mean, we get this for free and delays DO happen and it’s fine if/when they do as long we’re either kept up to date in some way to know the author/creator is ok. But mostly it’s the pretentious false outrage about it. Again, it’s free so a delay doesn’t lose you anything since you’re not paying anything(unless you do Patreon which is donations anyway). I backed a KS called Omori that’s been on delays with radio silence for MONTHS and I had put money on that shit. I didn’t start complaining or asking questions until some months ago when it really became a problem and we did get answers and results though it took time. Complaining about delays on a free webcomic on the Internet just reeks of petty shallowness.
Again, you’re right. But getting *too* emotional in these arguments makes you look as bad as the other person, and suddenly people might not want to support you.
Yes, I’m pretty alright with this free work of art that I enjoy and have no claim to being distributed whenever the author pleases. Yep, pretty genuinely okay with that.
please don’t water plants using children’s blood
It worked for Audrey II!
If by “worked” you mean “gave it a taste for human blood and lead to the demise of most of the main cast”!
again: please don’t
Oh come on, the little shop of horrors would fit in perfectly in Broodhollow.
Audrey II already had the taste for human blood. It was made clear both in conversation between Seymour and Audrey II, and in the song Don’t Feed the Plants (from the play and Director’s Cut of the movie) that he was planning to get blood and meat all along.
Your comic won’t last, and you can’t censor me.
*gingerly places a bowl of incense next to srcs003*
*pours gasoline over the incense
I’m (not) sorry to say srcs003 but his comics already last and are doing well, so your comment is false. And I do believe kris can censor you if he should so choose.
hahahaha holy shit. So try hard, over here.
I’m not particularly fond of tradition, in general, but this is still a great way to explain its value.
Hold up hold up hold up WE HAVE POWER we are cooking with PETROL
Awesome Kris! Having said that, I reeeeeally don’t like the implications of the last panel. This better not be some kind of “old ladies must absorb the life of one of my favourite characters” kind of story arc :P just how old are the ladies in this group, exactly?
Didn’t we see these pages already? Am I losing my mind? I swear we got this bit about the importance of tradition and injecting new blood a good while ago!
I think he shuffled these ahead of the one-shot comics to keep the story progressions cohesive.
Yeah, that’s what I was thinking.
Either that, or it could be an intentional reference to the fact the town seems to ‘reboot’ people’s minds every so often.
Little do we know, WE ARE PART OF THE GAME!
…I have finally caught up. I don’t really remember what I did with my life before this.
What, ’cause now you have no more comics? Well, you could take a walk since today’s beautiful, or you could find another archive to trawl and seal your fate. :p
Glad to have Broods back!
I feel like calling myself a brood now as a fan of this comic.
