She's right! My hat is completely unaffected by its new Hat co. radium-dipped elastic hat liner™.
Haha, that's so good!
Damnit Kris, I actually heard the discordant bow stroke.
I am absolutely loving this new comic.
Good Lord, this comic… it's going to be the death of my sleep
Can't go to sleep, skeletons will scare me.
More people need to know this exists.
Like the way the monster's panel is behind the others, peering through a gap. Makes me feel like it's always there, hidden, waiting to come through.
Thanks for the nightmare fuel. Awesome.
Thanks for the banner on the starslip feed, so I was able to find and subscribe here. Kris you are a smart man, and you have a good chance to be promoted to genius.
Thanks for the button on Chainsawsuit directing us here. I love this new comic so far. The monster looks so surreal.
I love that you can't really tell what part of the skeleton monster you're looking at, or even if you're looking at the same thing. It's just a vague, barely visible mass of bulging, horrible patchwork…very cool.
Radium was used extensively for awhile. But its dangerous properties were either unknown on not well known. Many women suffered horrible damage from being so close to radium.
Rereading this after having caught up.
The radium panel is red-tinted like certain ones on the next page.
I see what you did there, Kris. XD
Enjoyed the little conversation mixed with plenty of fun! During train journeys we can find similar interesting people! I used to wonder about this thing that what all varieties of characters are there in this globe! Thanks for the share!
personal injury defense la
This strip really makes me want to know what Edenvale is like now.
Forget the tin-foil hats, radium hat-liners are where it's at.
Meanwhile in Chernobyl…
Actually, reread this. Later on it’s mentioned that Broodhollow is in West Virginia, and since Zane’s on the train for only a few hours, he must still be relatively East Coast-ish. So’s Edenvale, by that logic. This is the Great Depression we’re talking about, the time when husbands and fathers abandoned families en masse, sometimes just looking to support them but occasionally never looking back. Was the radium hats an obvious lie? Is Granny visiting or coming to help raise the kids? Does this in any way retract from the hilarity of the radium hats line? (No)
