when you see it…
Mm. I don't see it, but it is quarter after 4am, so maybe in the morning.
I don't see it either. :/
I don't see anything.
I wonder if Frank is messing with us, and now we're all gonna stare intently at our monitors until A) it ruins our eyesight or B) our brains trick us into seeing something in the pattern.
could it be somethings missing
I just see Wadsworth smooching the window.
if you're referring to the bat, its still there. the smudges just make it kind of hard to see.
there's a smile in the window?
See what? All I see is static
The window shot is a pattern itself. if you stare at the center, small grey squares will appear at the intersection of the white lines. It's an optical illusion.
Top 2 panels to the left?
I can see the ears at the top, but the rest is very well blended with the dust, so I can't really see it. Maybe my work monitor is too bright. But this is a *gorgeous* strip, Kris. <3
Good ol' Wadsworth seems pretty content for the moment, at least. Good. I wanted that for him lol.
He's looking through the window at us. We are the Broodhollow.
I see a face, like an elderly lady with big round glasses. Or it could just be Death, I dunno.
Wadsworth: Death stalks me at every turn!
Wadsworth: Well, it does — aah! Death! There it is. Death!
Doc: It's only the Bottlefly Boys.
Wadsworth: [laughs sheepishly] Oh, yeah. You know, the pattern starts playing tricks. So — aah! Death!
Doc: That's only Iris.
Wadsworth: Oh. Aah! Death!
Lisa: That's the the Bottlefly Boys again, Wadsworth.
Wadsworth: Oh. Where were we? Death!
that ain't no lady
I see loads of pareidolia and not much else.
The white space in panels C2 and C3 (Battleship notation) sure seem like 1/2 of a spooky eye.
"This is my cracked window pane! It was made for me!"
This update feels like we're at the part of the roller coaster where we get a second to admire the view from the highest point, right before we're brought down into madness.
Is this one of those "going on hiatus" pages?
It is. Isn't it?
Man! I hate "going on hiatus" pages.
So far the Pattern has been making us see the surreal at every turn, we're fighting the it just as much as he is. There's nothing wrong in this one because to him nothing IS wrong for once.
He is trying to blow away the spooky ghost trying to gobble up his hand. Finally he is fighting back!
The ghost is right there! IN ZANE'S HAND!!
I never knew watching a man clean a window could be so terrifying…
Well, one thing I noticed was that in the end of the last panel, the bad was in the cage. Now it's not. Just sayin'
Wait… never mind, I'm just imaging things
Your mind is playing tricks on you my dear
The people of Broodhollow sure are a trusting lot. Allowing him to inventory the shop before he takes ownership of it.
(Not to mention that He's already tried to get out of town before the one guy who could prove his identity returns.)
I think there is an open door behind him. Look out Zane!
I feel dumb, I don't see anything. :(
Look at the industrious little man, cleaning up the interior of his new cage.
So adorable. He almost looks like he enjoys being in there.
I just realized that the last panel like this was in the second installment. Yet, this and the first like it are fundamentally different. The first showed Zane madly flipping his mailbox open and shut in an attempt to change its contents and was not a single image. This, however, is a unified effort of the entire piece to transmit security and another sort of method. Ah well. Probably unrelated to anything at all.
Pardon my psychoanalysis.
… What is the "it" some people are seeing? I've tried messing with monitor settings, but I just see an ambiguous dust cloud. Is this another thing I'm not getting because I'm autistic and don't see patterns the right way?
Nah, I don't see it either.
Great post! I’ll subscribe proper now with my feed reader computer software! This really is genuinely excellent news. Thank you for sharing it with us.
