You know there's a speakeasy type bar in San Diego with the same name.
I assume the name originates as a tongue-in-cheek reference to proponents calling prohibition the "noble experiment."
This won't cause any sort of paranoia for Zane, at all.
Love it Kris, keep up the great work!
Is Zane racist against Silhouettes?
Also, now we get to see if drinking Switchwater will turn his eyes into one giant X like the Bottlefly Boys.
I added a drunk dude to the foreground so it was clear Zane wasn't just making a comment about the silhouettes.
Cartooning on the fly. Outstanding
Oh! I thought you were going to reveal the silhouettes in the next comic and I was trying to figure out what the reveal was going to be. It makes sense that we was just talking about inebriation now.
I totally read it as Zane referring to the guy what had passed out.
He didn't exist 4 hours before your post though. These commments? It's like a machine! To the past!
My inner grammar-nazi wants to emerge…. must… resist…
I've been waiting to find out about switchwater! I'll spare you the fan theories though.
Maybe it's methanol and the drunk guy in panel 5 is dead.
You gotta know your limits!
I actually want to hear some fan theories!
I bet switchwater wards Zane against visions and/or visitors, but has terrifying side-effects or implications. Partly because I want the guy to catch a break and partly because I think we're due for a sign that it's impossible for everything to be in Zane's head.
Zane brought the bat along? The poor thing!
Wheras my reaction was, d'awww, be brought the battybat! <3
Man, that's one scared soft-serve ice cream cone in panel 3.
I like the fact that the better circumstances get for Zane, the more uneasy I get because I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I love the "soak our sorrows" euphemism. Much less violent than drowning them. Sounds almost relaxing. Barkeep, another round of Switchwater, please!
Somehow the lines around the eyes of the guy behind the door make me uneasy.
Is the bat Zane's wingman?
Couldn't resist making that joke…I APOLOGISE FOR NOTHING!
*Puts gun to head*
Anyone else think that the bouncer looks like future Vanderbeam?
Haha, it does! That's funny.
It would be kind of funny to find out that everything that's happening here is a direct result of future Vanderbeam messing with the timeline somehow, and has nothing at all to do with anything occult or eldrich.
That takes like 90% of the fun out of it.
Is there a way I can get a science grant for this noble experiment?
Had a hell of a laugh from the bouncer being continually hidden by the door.
Is there any way on this site to view a listing of all strips? I wanted to go back to see what the Bottlefly Boys initially said about switchwater (and also see their introduction so I can remember who's who), but there doesn't seem to be a good way to do it other than clicking the back arrow a bunch of times.
I guess clicking on the chapter name under the strip works.
This comic always makes me smile. But panel 3 was the first time I've actually laughed out loud.
Theory: Some switchwater gets spilled into Mercy's cage and he/she drinks it. The classic 'see what the mysterious substance does froom the outside' trope.
…PLEASE don't be poison.
"Is he invisible?" "No, he's just down here."
This is a ghost town. Calling it now. Town of ghosts.
